Top Ten Villains of The Flash thus Far

There was a terrible thing at www.tv.com where they did a top ten on The Flash villains, yet included bad villains and those that are anti-heroes instead of true villains. I also didn’t like some of the choices that they included. I have decided that the rectify this, I will come up with my own top ten of the villains that have appeared on The Flash thus far.

#10 Ramsey Deacon- The first of the villainous bus metas to appear, he had the power over technology and this affected Barry’s new suit. He caused a lot of problems on his quest for revenge, but his reign came to an end when he was sent to prison. Later, he tried to escape, only to wind up dead at the hands of the man who created him.

#9 Edward Clariss- One of the most pivotal minor villains, it is very likely that Wally would have died in the Flashpoint reality due to his terrible ways. In the next episode, Doctor Alchemy gave him powers in the new timeline and he tried to cause problems again, only to wind up dead at Savitar’s hands. If he had not taken out Wally, Barry might not have undone Flashpoint.

#8 Laurel Lance of Earth x- With more powers than the other versions of Laurel Lance than we have seen at the moment, she took great strides to try to get revenge on the people of earth 1 who had beaten the Nazis from her earth. She ultimately fell short of her goal, but she left her mark.

#7 Dominators- Perhaps not the best villains of any crossover, they still caused a huge mess that caused many problems on earth 1. With their ultimate goal being taking out Barry Allen or taking over the world itself, they got pretty far into the process until all of the heroes worked together to take them out. And they might appear again from time to time.

#6 Eliza Harmon- She was able to get people to think that the flash had turned on them for a bit. She did a lot of damage to team flash in a short amount of time before her ways ultimately got herself killed. She also provided critical hints into who the real identity of Zoom was.

#5 Russell Glosson- I’ll always be annoyed that they wasted him as a one-off role and didn’t make him more of a recurring villain or even a main villain. With the power to effectively slow everything down and the creepiness factor that makes a good villain even better, he did a lot of terrible things with his thefts and kidnappings. After he was captured, he was killed off, which was bad in my mind because then we could never make more use of him as a villain.

#4 Eobard Thawne- Him being too secret of a threat throughout the first season is why I wondered if he should even be on the list in the end. But he was a great threat, being able to manipulate his team into doing a lot of his bidding. He has appeared again and probably will keep showing up from time to time. Here’s hoping that the show lasts until 2024 so we can see the crisis that he’s involved with.

#3 Grodd- At first, he just seems like a more sentient King Kong with not much else to offer. Only he is very smart and often gets people to do what he wants. He has a lot to offer from time to time and I do hope that they make use of him as often as possible.

#2 James Jessie- He is up here representing the whole trickster family. I hope that we see him in some sort of crossover with the new Toyman from Supergirl. He may just seem to have elaborate tricks, but he can do much more than that. He knew how to potentially kill the flash using a movie as inspiration and has no reservations about trying to or actually committing mass murder. And I love the fact that he is played by Mark Hamill. Here’s hoping that the trickster family keep appearing over and over again so that his legacy will live on in the show.

#1 Clifford DeVoe- To me, he’s the best villain that the show has had thus far. Very slow and calculating, he knew how to create new metas just so that he could eventually get all of their powers. This made the smart man even more powerful and dangerous. What I also love is that the eventual attack that took him down was drawn out over many episodes. He was very well developed by the writers and made for a very great villain. Here’s hoping to more like him in the future.

Well, this is my top ten. I don’t know if I’ll ever do more of them for show’s villains in the future or not. I might have to do one for Gotham once it ends next season. Other than that, I don’t really know what else there is to say. I might update this in the future.
