Summer Shows 2019 Part 2

In case you were wondering what happened to last week's post, it wasn't written or published due to me going with another blog instead and alternate it with this one, a brief thing that will end as of this post. I am now phasing out weekly updates of this blog going back to random posts of this, although I can only hope that I will find a new time to publish weekly updates of this blog as it tends to work better this way if I do some of the time depending on what's going on with other blogs of mine. I just wish that the cheat that I used for this blog weren't moved to another blog for a while. I don't know when or if it will move back here. Anyways, enjoy this post and know that Tuesdays could see updates of this blog again in the future and you might have to read my Madam Secretary blog to know more about it for sure.

Well, I’m now to part 2 of the summer shows reviews that I’m doing this year. I’ve never had to split them up into multiple parts before as a lot of them aired later in the season and some I hadn’t had the chance to see earlier. Here are the reviews for the rest of what I should be interested in. This will only cover new shows this year that weren’t already reviewed.

First Responders Live: Show Description- We see various, real events unfolding live regarding different people in this profession. Behind the Scenes- This is likely inspired and based off of a cable show called Live PD. My Thoughts- It seemed interesting enough, although it also seemed like you might not get all out of it since it covered only a limited amount of time. I give it three stars out of five. Long Term Prospects- I’d put this at a toss-up as to whether or not it will last. Where to Find- On FOX at 9/8 Central on Tuesdays

What Just Happened? With Fred Savage: Show Description- Fred Savage hosts a show set after a made up show that doesn’t exist. Behind the Scenes- Fred Savage was on The Grinder. My Thoughts- It doesn’t work for me as a show as it is too random and doesn’t make a lot of sense. I can’t even tell what it is going for in the end. I give it two out of five stars. Long Term Prospects- I don’t think this will last. Where to Find- On FOX at 9:30/8:30 Central on Sundays

Hypnotize Me: Show Description- A game show, contestants have to do seemingly easy tasks while they are hypnotized into doing completely ridiculous things that get in the way of accomplishing said tasks. Behind the Scenes- This might have been part of The CW’s free streaming service, CW Seed, before it was moved to the network. My Thoughts- I may question the realism of this show, but feel that it is quite funny and entertaining. I give it four out of five stars. Long Term Prospects- I’d put this at a toss-up. Where to Find- On the CW at 9/8 Central on Wednesdays

BH90210: Show Description- I have no idea what to make of the plot outside of celebrities from 90210 playing fictionalized versions of themselves in a show that is very Meta. Behind the Scenes- A lot of the cast of the original is on this show too. We see people like Jennie Garth, who was on What I Like About You, Shannon Doherty, who was on the original Charmed, and various others. My Thoughts- This doesn’t work for me as it is far too Meta and might work better as a proper reboot instead of pseudo reality. I give it one out of five stars. Long Term Prospects- I have no idea if this will last or not and would lean towards it not lasting. Where to Find- On FOX at 9/8 Central on Wednesdays

Two Sentence Horror Stories: Show Description- In unrelated stories in each episode, two sentences are turned into half an hour of a show. Behind the Scenes- This has no known connection to anything before it that I’m familiar with. My Thoughts- I saw this once and wasn’t able to make much sense out of it. What I do know is that I didn’t like it. I don’t like horror stories and this is no exception. I give it one out of five stars. Long Term Prospects- I don’t think that this will last, although it just as easily could. Where to Find- On the CW at 9/8 Central on Thursdays

I Ship it: Show Description- A woman who is a fan girl of a show quits her job in order to help work with this other show. It’s a musical at times. Behind the Scenes- This aired on the CW Seed originally before it moved to the network. My Thoughts- It didn’t work as well to me since it seemed kind of sappy in a way and not as realistic as it could be. I give it two out of five stars. Long Term Prospects- While this might not last on the network, it could easily last on its streaming site. Where to Find- On the CW at 9:30/8:30 Central on Mondays

Mysteries Decoded: Show Description- A true crime show, a woman seeks to find answers relating to various mysteries of sorts. Behind the Scenes- Like most of the CW’s late summer show, this aired at first on its streaming site before airing on the network itself. My Thoughts- It might work for those of you who are into weird things like this. But I don’t really like true crime most of the time so I didn’t like this as much. I give it two out of five stars. Long Term Prospects- This might not last, at least on the network itself. Where to Find- On the CW at 9/8 Central on Tuesdays

Bulletproof: Show Description- Two black cops work together to solve crimes. Behind the Scenes- This first aired on the Sky Network in England and is a British show. My Thoughts- I couldn’t tell if this was strange due to the accents on the characters or if they sped up the speed of the show so as to not cut out much from the American airing of it. It didn’t work for me based on other factors either. Long Term Prospects- Whether or not this will last will depend not on American viewership but on British views. Thus, a prediction is pointless. It could last there but not here. I’d say it could last there but not here. I give it out of of five stars. Where to Find- On the CW at 8/7 Central on Sundays

My Planned Viewing Habits: Fall of 2019

Before the next season of fall shows start, I might as well get to posting what all I plan to watch on the various networks this fall. As always, this will only cover primetime shows as I don’t watch much else on TV anyways. Another thing to note is that I might not stick with anything on this list as it is merely what I plan to do and plans can easily change.

The main thing that is worth noting is that work could affect shows. What work? Well, I don’t know yet for sure. I might not be able to watch any primetime shows at all depending on what I might be doing. I could only miss part of shows every night or certain days of the week will be gone if I’m working then. I won’t know for sure and could wind up giving up this blog too if there’s nothing for me to blog about since I won’t be able to see anything.

Something that’s worth noting is that I will be watching all new FOX shows if I can from this season to all the others in the future. This is because I keep track of all CW shows I can now and FOX will be airing a former CW show, WWE Smackdown.

I should mention that all of what I want to watch that won’t be on at the fall but will start later. Those shows will be Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Station 19 on ABC, MacGyver on CBS, Legends of Tomorrow and Roswell, New Mexico on the CW, nothing on FOX, and Blindspot, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Manifest on NBC. That should cover everything there for now.

There are also still things that I like to call wildcards with how things go. For one, I might be interested in shows that I might not be able to watch all at once since I typically can’t see more than three shows at once. I do plan to watch Riverdale later online, although we’ll see whether or not I’m able to see as much of that as I want to. With The Rookie, I might not be able to watch it right away since it will be on against Madam Secretary. But I do plan to see what I can of it later this season after Madam Secretary is over and done airing. Any shows mentioned as potential shows would also be wildcards.

Now as for the returning shows I’m still into, I’m still watching the CBS shows of God Friended Me, NCIS: Los Angeles, Madam Secretary, 60 Minutes, Bull, NCIS, FBI, NCIS: New Orleans, Survivor, SEAL Team, S.W.A.T., Young Sheldon, Hawaii Five-0, Magnum P.I., and Blue Bloods. I’m still watching the CW shows of Supergirl, Black Lightning, The Flash, Arrow, Charmed, and Dynasty. I’m still watching the FOX shows of The Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy, and The Resident. I’ve also started watching 9-1-1.

I’m still into the ABC shows of Modern Family, The Good Doctor, Grey’s Anatomy, American Housewife, How to Get Away with Murder, and Fresh off the Boat. I’m still watching the NBC shows of Law and Order: SVU, New Amsterdam, and The Good Place.

There are some returning shows I might give a chance to that I haven’t seen yet before. They include the shows of Empire, The Masked Singer, and Supernatural. I don’t know yet if I’ll see any of them at all in the end or not. They are just things that I’m considering as potential shows to watch.

Now for all the new shows I might be into, they include Bless the Harts, Prodigal Son, and Almost Family on FOX, Batwoman and Nancy Drew on the CW, Bob hearts Abishola, All Rise, The Unicorn, Evil, and Carol’s Second Act on CBS, Emergence on ABC, and Sunnyside on NBC.

Well, that’s all I can really think of adding for this post. Maybe there’s more that I could say, but I don’t think that any more is needed in this post outside of this closing. We’ll see what all changes and what all I’m able to watch as NBC has terrible reception a lot of the time as does ABC. Maybe I’ll be able to see all of what I want to or maybe I won’t. And I might not like a lot of these shows either. Know that any show that is airing its final season will get priority for me.

Modern Family Drinking Game

Well, I don't have that much time to write a post, so here's another drinking game! Remember that these games are always played at one's own risk. I take no responsibility for any personal harm that may happen to those that decide to play this or any other drinking game that I suggest. Anyways, since Modern Family will start airing its final season later this year, I might as well post a drinking game based off of the show in question. There are tons of things that would make sense to me in terms of this game.

  • Take a shot if the characters forget the mockumentary format in some way, such as by wishing that something were on camera when they are being filmed 24/7.
  • Take a shot at each couch confessional.
  • Take a shot every time Gloria mispronounces something.
  • Take a shot whenever Colombian stereotypes are brought up.
  • Take a shot any time any character does something odd.
  • Take a shot at every misunderstanding.
  • Take a shot at every disagreement, be it fight, argument, or anything like that.
  • Whenever Phil has some sort of romantic attraction, however briefly, to Gloria, you take a shot.
  • Phil trying to prove himself is also a shot.
  • Hayley being irresponsible in some way is a shot.
