Delays

A common part of television is that shows, be it seasons of shows or even the very start of them, wind up delayed. It is also a common problem. This has been a problem for these shows as most shows that wind up delayed don’t end up lasting at all.

Of course, there has been a change in this. The key thing that could make a show survive delays would be the pandemic. This is because a show went from being delayed for no good reason to having a good reason why it was delayed. Suddenly, the thing that often killed shows doesn’t matter as much.

But, it is important to note that delays should need a good reason. Even if they have the pandemic as a reason for delays, it can still kill a show in the future. If there doesn’t seem to be a good reason at all, then the show would wind up cancelled. Or not. The fourth season of Community was widely panned by many, but it still survived the delay unlike many other shows unaffected by the pandemic.

TV is hardly the only thing where delays are common. Sometimes is seems to mean that a show might be in danger of airing at all, which is a huge problem. Of course, the farther along it is in production, the more likely it is to see the light of day. Well, some of the show is. Delays are often bad, but they don’t always matter as much as it could.
