Fantasy Schedule for the 2020-2021 Season

Hopefully it is time for me to finally write the next fantasy schedule that I have been wanting to do for quite some time. This is when I predict what the networks’ schedules might look like in the upcoming season. It has been quite a while since I’ve done this in my blog. Quick reminders that all caps refers to any new shows and summer refers to this year (2020) and not a future summer.

You might need an explanation as to where this post has been for a while. It wasn’t discontinued like the cancellation predictions from a while ago or other posts. I haven’t done it the past two years, despite wanting to for a while. I ran out of time two years ago and never even attempted to the previous year due to a change as to when the blog was updated. I hope to get this done as it is time sensitive.

Now there will be something different this coming season since there are changes due to covid19 that aren’t common and never happened before. Some changes are already in effect, but the main thing could be that pilots may not happen or happen much later than before. I don’t think that this will affect previously filmed pilots from a while ago that probably won’t happen anymore. But you will see a lot of different predictions in this blog as a result of the virus.

ABC

Sunday

6:00- America’s Funniest Home Videos, 7:00- The Bachelorette, 9:00- The Rookie

Monday

7:00- Dancing with the Stars, 9:00- The Good Doctor

Tuesday

7:00- The Conners, 7:30- Bless this Mess, 8:00- Mixed-ish, 8:30- Black-ish, 9:00- For Life

Wednesday

7:00- The Goldbergs, 7:30- Schooled, 8:00- American Housewife, 8:30- Single Parents, 9:00- THE BIG SKY

Thursday

7:00- Station 19, 8:00- Grey’s Anatomy, 9:00- A Million Little Things

Friday

7:00- Shark Tank, 8:00- 20/20

Midseason- American Idol, The Bachelor, The Baker and the Beauty, The Great Christmas Light Fight, The Great American Baking Show, Bachelor in Paradise, NEW DRAMA, NEW COMEDY, NEW REALITY, YET ANOTHER BACHELOR SHOW

Summer- THE BACHELOR SUMMER GAMES, DON’T, GENERATION GAP, UNITED WE FALL, VIDEOS AFTER DARK, The $100,000 Pyramid, Card Sharks, Celebrity Family Feud, Holy Moley, Supermarket Sweep, Press Your Luck, Primetime: What Would You Do?

Cancelled- Emergence, Kids Say the Darnest Things, The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart, How to Get Away with Murder, Stumptown, Don’t, Generation Gap, United We Fall, Videos after Dark, Who Wants to be a Millionaire?

Explanations- Things will be different, of course, due to the virus which is why I think that some of what will be different will be how much things will be similar to what they were this season. Part of what this network does different now is American Idol, which is why I think that the late airing Bachelorette will air on the Sunday slot that American Idol will later get. I am hoping that the end of the virus will put things back into motion around May, if things can get started by then. Depending on how late it could delay things, we might not see any of this for a while, if we see anything at all.

CBS

Sunday

6:00- 60 Minutes, 7:00- God Friended Me, 8:00- NCIS: Los Angeles, 9:00- NCIS: New Orleans

Thursday

7:00- Young Sheldon, 7:30- The Unicorn, 8:00- Mom, 8:30- Carol’s Second Act, 9:00- Evil

Friday

7:00- MacGyver, 8:00- Magnum P.I., 9:00- Blue Bloods

Midseason- Man with a Plan, Tommy, Broke, Survivor, NEW COMEDY, NEW DRAMA, NEW DRAMA

Summer- Blood & Treasure, The Amazing Race, The Good Fight season 2, Undercover Boss, One Day at a Time, Love Island

Cancelled- Bull, Hawaii Five-0, Madam Secretary, Criminal Minds

Explanations- I think that Bull will wind up being more of a surprise cancellation and that there will be some unusual schedule changes due to covid19 that we haven’t seen as much before. Even if this is all over before the summer ends, I think that it will be a big enough change to delay when they could be airing Survivor as a result. I still think that it is possible that Love Island airs again this summer instead of some other time. It is possible that new shows start during the fall and I think that will happen to make up for some of the scheduling gaps of some of these shows.

CW

Sunday

7- Batwoman, 8- Supergirl (final season)

Monday

7- Supernatural (final season/episodes), 8- Black Lightning

Tuesday

7- The Flash, 8- DC’s Legends of Tomorrow

Wednesday

7- Riverdale, 8- Katy Keene

Thursday

7- Nancy Drew, 8- Legacies

Friday

7- Charmed, 8- Dynasty

Midseason- SUPERMAN & LOIS, WALKER, In the Dark, All American, and Roswell, New Mexico

Summer- STARGIRL, The 100, Bulletproof, Burden of Proof, In the Dark, Masters of Illusion, Penn and Teller: Fool Us, The Outpost, Pandora

Cancelled- The 100, Supernatural, Hypnotize Me, Arrow

Explanations- It might be a bit hard to predict some of what will happen this season and I do have some of the knowledge of what might happen as a result. I made some risky choices such as what will be on at midseason versus the fall in addition to some schedule changes here and there. I’m only predicting one of the final season shows here officially even though others could end as well. I don’t think that there will be much else different, although this network is trying hardest to make sure that all of the episodes planned for this season will be made and air at some point, which you’d think they would at random points during the summer when the main shows are on brief breaks. It is hard to predict much about this network anymore as they are Crazy, Wight?

FOX

Sundays

6:00- reruns/football overrun, 6:30- reruns/football overrun, 7:00- The Simpsons, 7:30- Bless the Harts, 8:00- Bob’s Burgers, 8:30- Family Guy

Mondays

7:00- 9-1-1, 8:00- Prodigal Son

Tuesdays

7:00- The Resident, 8:00- I CAN SEE YOUR VOICE

Wednesdays

7:00- The Masked Singer, 8:00- Hell’s Kitchen

Thursdays

7:00- Thursday Night Football

Fridays

7:00- WWE Smackdown

Midseason- CALL ME KAT, Duncanville, Last Man Standing, Lego Masters, 9-1-1: Lone Star, Gordon Ramsey’s 24 Hours to Hell and Back, MasterChef Junior, NEW CHEF RAMSEY SHOW

Summer- FILTHY RICH, THE GREAT NORTH, NEXT, ULTIMATE TAG, So You Think You Can Dance?

Cancelled- Deputy, Outmatched, Almost Family, Filthy Rich, Flirty Dancing, NeXt, The Great North, The Moodys, Empire, Mental Samurai

Explanations- This might be harder to predict than I would like. I think that some of this is randomly and shooting in the dark more so than I would like. It is hard to tell what could happen, but I think that a lot of this would be closer to happening than not happening. I don’t know why FOX had to get rid of a lot of the timeslots that they have most of the year to other things that aren’t as important as they could be and don’t have to air on network TV at all. But these are my predictions and I hope that they make sense and work for other people.

NBC

Sundays

7:00- Sunday Night Football

Mondays

7:00- The Voice, 9:00- DOOMED DOOMED DOOMED DA DOOMED DOOMED DOOMED

Tuesdays

7:00- The Voice, 8:00- This is Us, 9:00- New Amsterdam

Wednesdays

7:00- Chicago Med, 8:00- Chicago Fire, 9:00- Chicago PD

Thursdays

7:00- Superstore, 7:30- TED DANSON COMEDY, 8:00- Brooklyn Nine-Nine, 8:30- JEFFRIES, 9:00- Law and Order: SVU

Fridays

7:00- The Blacklist (final season), 8:00- Dateline

Midseason- LAW & ORDER: HATE CRIMES, THE KENAN SHOW, YOUNG ROCK, LAW & ORDER: MAFIA, Manifest, The Wall, Little Big Shots, Making It, Ellen’s Game of Games, Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector

Summer- THAT’S MY JAM, America Ninja Warrior, America’s Got Talent, America’s Got Talent: The Champion, Songland, The Titan Games, World of Dance, Who Do You Think You Are?

Cancelled- Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Indebted, Council of Dads, Bluff City Law, Blindspot, Will and Grace, Sunnyside, The Good Place, That’s My Jam, Perfect Harmony

Explanations- I am guessing at what the organized crime drama that would be part of the Law and Order franchise and think that it won’t be caused Organized Crime so that people won’t confuse it with the other show that will be premiering the same season. The Kenan Show and Young Rock are comedies. Most of this is based on what is premiering late being cancelled in case like it normally is most of the time. I think that the unnamed Law and Order spin-off would have to be at midseason in order for them to introduce the team and reintroduce Elliot to the show. I have to admit that I don’t know if that has already happened on SVU in episodes that I haven’t seen. I do think that this is a good bet, even though I’m certain to be wrong about some of these.

What I think will stay: America’s Funniest Home Videos, Nancy Drew, Legacies, Charmed, Dynasty, The Simpsons, Bless the Harts, Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy, 9-1-1, Prodigal Son, The Resident, The Maksed Singer, Hell’s Kitchen, Duncanville, Last Man Standing, Lego Masters, 9-1-1: Lone Star, Gordon Ramsey’s 24 Hours to Hell and Back, MasterChef Junior, In the Dark, All American; Roswell, New Mexico; The Bachelorette, The Rookie, Dancing with the Stars, The Good Doctor, The Conners, Bless this Mess, Mixed-ish, Black-ish, For Life, The Goldbergs, Schooled, American Housewife, Single Parents, Station 19, Grey’s Anatomy, A Million Little Things, Shark Tank, 20/20, American Idol, The Bachelor, The Baker and the Beauty, The Great Christmas Light Fight, The Great American Baking Show, Bachelor in Paradise, The $100,000 Pyramid, Card Sharks, Celebrity Family Feud, Holy Moley, Bulletproof, Burden of Proof, Masters of Illusion, Penn and Teller: Fool Us, The Outpost, Pandora, Supermarket Sweep, Press Your Luck, 60 Minutes, God Friended Me, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, The Neighborhood, Bob Hearts Abishola, All Rise, NCIS, FBI, FBI: Most Wanted, The Voice, This is Us, New Amsterdam, Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, Superstore, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Law and Order: SVU, The Blacklist, 48 Hours, Manifest, The Wall, Little Big Shots, Making It, Ellen’s Game of Games, Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector, America Ninja Warrior, America’s Got Talent, America’s Got Talent: The Champion, Songland, The Titan Games, World of Dance, SEAL Team, S.W.A.T., Young Sheldon, The Unicorn, Mom, Carol’s Second Act, Evil, MacGyver, Magnum P.I., Blue Bloods, Man with a Plan, Batwoman, Supergirl, Supernatural, Black Lightning, The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Riverdale, Katy Keene, Tommy, Broke, Survivor, The Amazing Race, Primetime: What Would You Do?

What I think will go: Emergence, Deputy, Outmatched, Almost Family, Filthy Rich, Flirty Dancing, NeXt, The Great North, The Moodys, Empire, Mental Samurai, Kids Say the Darnest Things, The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart, How to Get Away with Murder, Stumptown, The 100, Supernatural, Hypnotize Me, Arrow, Don’t, Generation Gap, Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Indebted, Council of Dads, Bluff City Law, Blindspot, Will and Grace, Sunnyside, The Good Place, That’s My Jam, Perfect Harmony, United We Fall, Bull, Hawaii Five-0, Madam Secretary, Criminal Minds, Videos after Dark, Who Wants to be a Millionaire?

No decision: NBC’s Pandemic Weekly Show, Who do You Think You Are?, So You Think You can Dance?

That’s all that I can think of for this post. Sorry if I’m forgetting or not including any shows that I should be or if any of this information is wrong. Granted, this is just a guess as to what the schedule for the next season will be like and I have no way of knowing yet if it will, in fact, happen or not. But I hope that you like this post and if enough people read it, then you will see it again next year if I don’t run out of time or have some other problem with it instead.
