With the Emmys airing tomorrow
and thus the unofficial start of the next TV season happening as a result, it
is time for me to do my favorite post of all the years that I do. This was
something that I got rid of at one point due to low viewership, but I got rid
of that rule when the new blogger made it impossible to keep track of based on
that so I’m bringing this post back after having not done it last year. Any
show that I don’t know will exist is not included by default and I’m leaving
out most summer shows. If there are existing show that aren’t renewed yet, I’m
not including them either. Also, I had to rush through some of this post to get
it done today so I may be quicker at this than I would like.
ABC shows
What I think will go
Black-ish: This one is a freebie. They have announced that the show
is ending and thus there is no reason not to put it on here unless I want to be
wrong about them. There aren’t that many of them known going into the season,
but I still want to include what I know I will be right about.
Grey’s Anatomy: Maybe I’m seeing things that aren’t there, but it
seemed like there was an ounce of finality to some of the most recent season
and there could be more of it this coming season as well. I do not know for
sure of any rumors that this is ending, but still feeling it is worth including
here.
Home Economics: It will be hard to know what the sophomore slump in
at least ratings will be going into the next season, but I believe that this
one is more likely than others. It seems like there might be more going against
this show than others.
A Million Little Things: With this not set to be on until midseason
and it possibly not being on Thursdays at all, this could lead to a serious
ratings decline that would result in it ending. But there could be enough
episodes where it is near a magic number where cancellation makes no sense. I
do not know if it is at that point or not, which is why I’m putting it here.
Abbott Elementary: With a lot of new shows, I won’t know as much
about them going into it so it might just make more sense for me to put it among
the shows predicted as cancelled than it would any other place. Also, expect to
see these exact words throughout this post.
Jeopardy! National College Championship: Before I get into why this
is here, I do have to wonder, does ABC have the exclusive primetime rights to
all the syndicated game shows? That seems to be the case. Anyways, this one is
here due to it probably not being a long term plan, although this may not be
the case of what happens here at all.
Judge Steve Harvey: I don’t think that any of the judge shows work
well outside of daytime hours plus Steve Harvey hosts a lot of stuff already.
With a lot of his shows being hit and miss as to whether or not they will last,
this one in my mind is more likely to end than others are.
Generation Gap: At one point, this show based on a segment on Jimmy
Kimmel Live was going to air and be made. There are not signs of this airing at
all in the future. In the off chance that this does air in the future, it
probably won’t last beyond what we’ve already seen of this.
Who Wants to be a Millionaire?: I don’t even know if this is
renewed for this coming season at all or not because I do not yet know of any
evidence that this will be coming back and if it does, it could easily end like
it has in the past.
Women of the Movement: There is already a plan of this being only
one season. While this could lead to one of those reverse cancellations as
we’ve seen in the past with other miniseries or things like it, I do not think
that this will be the case with it in the end.
The Wonder Years: There is a lot of hit and miss with remakes. It
seems like nearly a 50/50 split of them lasting a while or them only lasting
the one season. A lot of it can depend on the network that it will air on. This
network has a lot of old fashioned shows so I think that this won’t last as a
result.
Queens: With a lot of new shows, I won’t know as much about them
going into it so it might just make more sense for me to put it among the shows
predicted as cancelled than it would any other place. Also, expect to see these

Promised Land: With a lot of new shows, I won’t know as much about
them going into it so it might just make more sense for me to put it among the

Maggie: With a lot of new shows, I won’t know as much about them
going into it so it might just make more sense for me to put it among the shows

What I think will stay
Shark Tank: This has probably never been in danger of ending and
probably won’t be. Station 19: With
the other show in the franchise more likely to end, this would be more likely
to stay. Supermarket Sweep: I see no
reason why this would end, although I could just as easily be wrong about this.
The Rookie: This should be close to
enough episodes needing done that renewal is a certainty. Holey Moley: This will probably last like most of the other game
shows on this network. Celebrity Wheel
of Fortune: This has to last with it as entertaining as it is. Also, does
ABC have the primetime rights for all of the syndicated shows? That’s weird. The Conners: This probably is at a
magic number in terms of episodes where it has to have more to get syndication.
Dancing with the Stars- This show is very popular still and
probably won’t end despite the hosting change from a while ago. The Goldbergs: I haven’t heard rumors
that this is ending and unless there is some notable change in what goes on
with it between now and then, it will be sticking around. Plus, with another
major sitcom of theirs ending, I wouldn’t think that they end another this time
around. The Good Doctor: This is
probably at a magic number in terms of episodes made where even a ratings
decline wouldn’t get it cancelled yet this season since they need enough for
syndication. The Great Christmas Light
Fight: I don’t know why this would end.
20/20: As long as there is true crime worth showing on television,
this show will exist. As long as there is news as well, this show will exist.
Basically, nothing is getting rid of this show. American Idol: The network really likes this show so I think that
it will keep lasting as a result. America’s
Funniest Home Videos: While this remains a dumb show, it is still well
liked so it will keep lasting. The
Bachelorette: This and The Bachelor are going to keep lasting even in
pandemic era TV where they should still be staying six feet apart from others. Big Sky: While this could have a
sophomore slump in ratings, I don’t see that happening given its better
timeslot.
CBS shows
What I think will go
The Activist: With a lot of new shows, I won’t know as much about
them going into it so it might just make more sense for me to put it among the
shows predicted as cancelled than it would any other place. Also, expect to see
these exact words throughout this post. Plus, it is on Fridays.
Come Dance with Me: With a lot of new shows, I won’t know as much

one of those reality competition shows which never last on this network.
CSI: Vegas: There might not be a long term plan for this show as
what little we might see of the first season could be all that is meant for us
to see during this show. I can only hope that they make more than that and this
show lasts, but I just don’t have as high hopes for this being the long awaited
return of the franchise as we would like and want.
FBI: International: I’m thinking that the other two FBI shows are
more than likely to last beyond what they have now in terms of episodes. But I
think that the newest one would be most likely to fail, which is why this made
the list out of everything.
Ghosts: With a lot of new shows, I won’t know as much about them
going into it so it might just make more sense for me to put it among the shows
predicted as cancelled than it would any other place. Also, expect to see these

Good Sam: With a lot of new shows, I won’t know as much about them

Smallwood: With a lot of new shows, I won’t know as much about them

NCIS: I heard rumors that this show might be ending and that’s all
I need to hear to put it on this list. When you hear those rumors, bet on them
as they are likely to be right. Plus, with rumors that Mark Harmon is leaving
the show as well, this could be the end of CBS’s longest running drama.
The Amazing Race: Continuing problems with the pandemic makes me
think this could easily get an unrenewal or be delayed so long that any future
season of it would wind up being its last. Blood
and Treasure: With this show having been delayed as long as it has been,
people won’t care if it does return and can only end as a result. Blue Bloods: CBS likes to screw with
people at times and this could wind up not being profitable to the network
anymore so they’d ax it as a result. Bull:
The allegations against its star and new showrunner make me think that it could
end as a result of that, especially since this should have more than enough
episodes for syndication by now.
The Equalizer: It might not have too much against it, but Liza
Lapira is not known for being on long running shows and the football delays
could easily get it in at some point in time. SEAL Team: This is oddly airing just four episodes before making
the switch to streaming so it is sort of a freebie. I will not be keeping track
of its streaming future. Undercover Boss:
With this being gone as long as it has been, I don’t see it being as good a hit
anymore if this does come back. United
States of Al: There is far too much against this show and CBS is likely to
find a different sitcom to keep instead of it.
What I think will stay
Young Sheldon: While this will be in syndication pretty soon where
I live and plenty of other places too, I don’t see it ending because it needs
even more episodes for it to last longer. Survivor:
This may be a spoiler, but I think that they have already filmed more than just
the fall and spring season so this won’t end since they wouldn’t film more
seasons and then not air them. S.W.A.T. :
Magic numbers in terms of syndication mean everything, although this could
easily end since it might have been in danger of that this season. Still, I
think that it will return. Tough as
Nails: This should already be renewed. Magnum
P.I.: This is again at a magic number where cancellation is highly
unlikely.
Bob Hearts Abishola: Again, we have magic numbers sometimes when it
comes to renewal and if they need more than what a current season will bring,
then you will get more than the upcoming season will get in terms of future
seasons. 48 Hours: Would this ever
really end? 60 Minutes: This has
never been in danger of ending and never will be. B Positive: I have to imagine that this will last, although this
might be one I’m more likely to be wrong about. NCIS: Hawai’i: Rumors of the flag show ending should mean that the
rest of the franchise is safe. However, with two Arrowverse shows ending last
season and both NCIS: New Orleans and MacGyver also ending last season, we’d
have to see just how different it would be from another show in the franchise
to break this rule.
NCIS: Los Angeles: This will only end if it turns out that NCIS is
sticking around. Otherwise, it will last this season and could be offed the
next one. FBI: I still think that it
is more likely that the new one will end before any of the other shows in the
franchise would. If that’s not the case, then this would end. But I think that
it needs more episodes for syndication to work anyways. FBI: Most Wanted: This should be heading into its third season with
almost certainty of renewal based on magic numbers that I have brought up that
might not make sense to everyone, but does to those who track this sort of
thing.
CW shows
What I think will go
Great Chocolate Showdown: With a lot of new shows, I won’t know as

Naomi: With a lot of new shows, I won’t know as much about them

Tom Swift: With a lot of new shows, I won’t know as much about them
going into it so it might just make more sense for me to put it among the shows

All American: Homecoming: The main show would be more likely to
stay around and thus, this new show would be more likely to end as a result. Would I Lie to You?: The UK version is
certain to end and we’ll see if the US one fails as well. Dynasty: After enough delays with the previous season and there
being enough episodes for syndication with a fourth, this is way more likely to
end than stay. In the Dark: This
will be the network’s first chance to get rid of it after inexplicably renewing
it the first season. I don’t know why it would be on so late and be something
the network cares about long term. Killer
Camp: I have no idea just how different this will be this season, but with
it gone a long enough time, it is not likely to be accepted when it comes back.
Legacies: I’m thinking that this has enough going against it that
it would be more likely to end than to stick around in the end. Legends of the Hidden Temple: A lot of
revivals don’t work on various networks and with this not a drama, it is more
than likely doomed. Legends of Tomorrow:
If any Arrowverse show is ending, it is this one. Of course, I’ve said that
before and been wrong. Still, this has the most against it since it doesn’t get
as good ratings as The Flash or is too new like the others, an actual benefit
for them, but not this show. Riverdale:
The airing of the last season was delayed enough that I don’t think that there
is a long term plan for this beyond what we’ve seen thus far. Roswell, New Mexico: While it will
never have enough episodes for syndication, it has enough seasons for this
network to end it.
What I think will stay
Walker: Season 2 cancellations of shows rarely happen on this
network. Whose Line is it Anyways?:
This is likely to always last. World’s
Funniest Animals: It’s a dumb show, but why would it end? They need to air
something and this works for them. Stargirl:
Season 3 cancellations of shows rarely happen on this network. Superman and Lois: This will last as it
needs more time on the network. Two
Sentence Horror Stories: The network needs this so it will last. Nancy Drew: While not close enough to
the magic number per say, it is still what it most has going for it. Penn and Teller: Fool Us: This is a
popular show still so it will last. Kung
Fu: Season 2 cancellations of shows rarely happen on this network.
All American: This might be at the magic number where cancellation
makes no sense. Batwoman: They almost
never cancel third season shows on any network. Charmed: Magic number, blah blah blah, filler. The Flash: This is still popular and won’t be going anywhere
without warning or a ratings hit. 4400:

Call Me Kat: This is a horrible show and I can’t imagine that they’d
keep this around forever. Don’t Forget
the Lyrics: Most reboots do not work and this probably will fit that
category. Housebroken: This likely
will be passed over for other shows as production returns to normal. I Can See Your Voice: I don’t see this
as lasting when they need new things in its place.
What I think will stay
The Masked Singer: As popular as this show still is, I doubt it
will be in danger of ending for quite a while in the future. Its only problem
is if they rely on gimmicks or game changes too much. MasterChef: This will keep lasting unless something happens to its
host like cancellation. MasterChef:
Junior: See what I just wrote for the previous show. The Resident: This needs more episodes for syndication, although this
does have more going against it like a major character leaving and a potential
Georgia purge, although the last one is probably more me seeing things that
aren’t there. The Simpsons: This
could end, but barring deaths or voice actors being cancelled, this won’t.
Duncanville: This is entering a third season which should be good,
although the episode count might be low enough that it won’t be as good an
indicator as most would be. Family Guy:
Even if this were to end, it might return as it has in the past. The Great North: While I doubt that it already
has been renewed, maybe it has been, but probably will be if it hasn’t. 9-1-1: This show remains popular for
now and I just don’t see it as ending just yet. 9-1-1: Lone Star: This will last for the same reason others have. Bob’s Burgers: This shouldn’t be in
danger of ending any time soon. In fact, I’m not sure if animated shows on FOX
follow the same rules as live action shows on this or other networks do. Domino Masters: While this might just
be seen as a wanna be Lego Masters, I think that it will last for the same
reason that Lego Masters has lasted thus far.
NBC shows

AGT: Extreme: A lot of reality show spin-offs are failures with few
exceptions. This is more likely not to be an exception just yet. La Brea: While this looks pretty cool,
as lot of science fiction shows just do not last on network TV. Ordinary Joe: High concept shows don’t
last on network TV. This could go the same way that Awake did.
That’s My Jam: With a lot of new shows, I won’t know as much about

easily end as a result. Mr. Mayor: I
don’t think that this will keep lasting over and over again. While I am glad to
see this go back into production, the delays are often a sign of things going
wrong. Password: Most reboots don’t
last and I think this will be one of them. This
is us: This is a freebie, confirmed to end. Transplant: This may not be a long term plan for the network with
shows going back to normal. The Weakest
Link: A lot of game shows will probably end with shows going back to
normal. Who do you Think You Are?:
This is likely to end again as it has before, even though it might return in
the same way.
What I think will stay
Young Rock: I think that this will last, but this is more of a risk
for me to put here. The Voice:
Unless something happens, this will always be part of the network. I just wish
that I could say the same for the shows that air after it. New Amsterdam: This show need a magic number beyond what it already
has so consider it likely to stay around. Chicago
Fire: I doubt that this will end, even with its mass renewals ending, I
think, this time around. Chicago Med:
They aren’t going to end this yet. Chicago
PD: I don’t see any trouble for this show in the franchise.
Dateline: The network needs this show for an all purpose fill in
for its true crime and news ventures. Kenan:
Unless they need him more on SNL, this should be lasting still, although this
is a risk to put here as it could be a sophomore ratings slump. Law and Order: Organized Crime: This is
likely to last in my mind, although I could be wrong about it. Law and Order: Special Victims Unit:
There should not be any danger in this show ending any time soon. LA Fire and Rescue: It is always a risk
to put a new show on the safe list, but I think that this should still around
in the end.
I might have to schedule this
to go up sooner than I actually got this up since blogs of mine might now be
intertwined with Central time zone where I live instead of Western which would
give me an extra two hours in theory. I am running out of time for nearly all
of my regular blog posts, but do now have to put the time and effort into them
in order to get them done when they make sense for me before the year is over
which will be quicker than I might have thought at first. I have squandered too
much time on this blog by doing a bunch of random posts that I can only hope
that the regular features are here before the year ends in a good enough time
in the future.
