While I wanted to do a post on
some of the new fall shows today, that will have to wait until later. For now,
I will do a quick post on the three types of way a show can end each season.
There is a good finale, a bad finale, or anything that’s in between.
The good finale may not be as
rare as some people think. Some go over and beyond what they need to do in
order to provide a good ending to the season. Others just wind up with a good
way of ending the show or just fails at being bad or even average. Whatever the
reason, good finales are what people want to aim for and they happen more often
than you might think.
The bad finale is never what
people aim for. Many think they are making a good finale, but fans of all sorts
disagree and learn that the show’s ending is quite terrible. Typically, all
shows that end on some sort of cliffhanger fall in this category. Some just needed
to take out a last scene that shouldn’t have been there when the show ended.
Other times, it isn’t a cliffhanger but is still a terrible way to end the
whole series and makes old fans abandon their previous support of the show.
Average finales are the last
one. They aren’t really good or bad. Things are resolved or there is not enough
unresolved to bother people. But it wasn’t quite a stand out finale that people
thought that they could make. People make think it is bad at first, only to
realize that it is not as bad as it could be. But it still could have been
better if not done poorly either.
That’s about it for this post.
Monday’s post should hopefully have some of what I want to do with the reviews
of new fall shows. I would do more reviews or hope to in the future, but I am
running out of time in order to watch things and it could be a while before I
do and get caught up as a result. I guess we will see what happens and I might
not have time to watch any TV depending on what else is going on during my life
at the time.
